Mind and Growth: Supporting Young Minds

Children's Mental Health Week is an important time to pause, reflect, and have honest conversations about wellbeing, especially when it comes to children and young people. In a fast-changing world that feels more demanding than ever, many young people are trying to figure out who they are, what they’re good at, and where they belong. At Mind and Growth, we exist to help them do exactly that.

Mind and Growth is a life skills, life coaching, and mentoring service designed to support people of all ages, with a strong focus on young people. Our mission is simple but powerful: to help individuals

discover their strengths, find purpose, and believe in their own potential. Growing up today can feel

overwhelming. Expectations are high, comparison is constant, and the pressure to “fit in” or succeed can take a real toll on mental health. For a child or young person trying to find their way, life can feel confusing and, at times, isolating.

That’s why having the right support matters. Young people need encouragement, positive role models, and someone who will listen without judgement. They need a safe space where they can talk openly about their worries, their goals, their fears, and their hopes for the future. At Mind and Growth, we make sure that every individual we work with feels seen, heard, and valued. We provide a place where they can be themselves and begin to visualise a better situation for their lives.

Mental health is a serious and ongoing issue that can affect anyone, at any time. For young people,

challenges such as rejection, disappointment, anxiety, fear, and things not going their way can feel overwhelming without the right tools to cope. These experiences can quietly shape confidence, self-worth, and decision-making. Our work focuses on helping young people build resilience, emotional awareness, and the confidence to keep going — even when things are difficult.

Mind and Growth also aims to bridge the gap that can sometimes exist between parents and children, and between students and teachers. We understand that communication isn’t always easy, and that young people may need someone outside of those relationships to offer a healthy, honest perspective.

Our mentors bring real life experience, understanding, and empathy — with nothing expected in return other than positive growth.

Through our workshops and exercises, we encourage young people to step out of their comfort zones, face challenges, and learn that failure is not something to fear — it’s part of learning and growing. We help unlock potential, build confidence, and support young people in becoming active, positive members

of their communities.

Mind and Growth and the King Heath Community Club, are genuinely here to listen, support, and

encourage. Because when children and young people feel supported, believed in, and guided, they don’t just cope — they thrive. And that support can make all the difference.
