Kings Heath Community Basketball Club

Two home losses over a busy weekend of Basketball 👇🏽

In the @ybl_basketball our women are raising the levels and faced an experienced @redditchbball losing 25-69. With new players still not on the roster we know we have plenty more talent coming in and the progress for our second season remains strong! 💪🏽

Our men battled with @mavericks_wm in an outstanding high tempo game on Sunday night. We showcased the team basketball and ball movement we continue to develop as our foundation across all the teams. Props to Mavs for not letting us break away after leading in the first through to the third quarter. Outstanding shooting in the last few minutes from @mr_m_gayle was ultimately the difference 👏🏽

But the future remains bright!

If it was easy…. it wouldn’t be worth doing!

Let’s talk about progress…

Last night was more than a Rosebowl game against a competent @rawzonebb squad with history, integrity and depth.

It was a seminal moment both individually and collectively; #5 Raf Lugo is the first of our junior squad to progress into our Men’s 1st team. Raf joined us 3 years ago with limited basketball experience. He was part of the WMBL 2nd team (of mostly kids) that lost EVERY SINGLE GAME last year, did he care? Did any of that team care? Not really, they knew it was about developing, building the resilience needed to play at higher levels and achieve more both on and off the court. It was about practice.

Now he brushes off a miss, bounces back from defeat with ease and knows we stay humble in defeat and humble in victory! 💪🏽

Congratulations Raf! More players to talk about as we enter the season but this was your day young man! 💥

Seconds out… season 4 for the men’s team as we entertain @rawzonebb in the first round of the Rosebowl Cup.

We’re not taking them lightly as a well established and skilled community club. A great intro before we start our first season in the @wmbl_1965 Premier Division 📈

Aiming to kick start the season with a win… momentum is a powerful force, our momentum is strong and there’s no breaking our soul or spirit!
